Tiffany Fire Update – July 1 – 1pm

The Tiffany Fire is currently 6,488 acres and 32% contained.  The reduction in acreage is due to more accurate infrared mapping.  Crews made progress on the fire yesterday (6/30) with critical aerial support from helicopter water drops.  Burnout operations have been completed near a power transmission line and crews will work to secure the area this weekend.  Additional burnout operations may occur, temporarily producing more smoke.  No structures are threatened.  Temperatures are expected in the upper 90s and humidity in the low teens.  Predicted thunderstorms may produce gusty wind and lightning in the area this afternoon.
