Update: Highway 116 Fire – Socorro County – 04/21/18 – 12:15 p.m.

This wildfire, burning one mile north of Bernardo, NM off of Highway 116 in northern Socorro County, is now 90% contained.  Highway 116 has been reopened by State Police and homes in the area are no longer threatened. The fire started Friday afternoon (04/20) on private land.  Crews will continue to mop up and patrol the area for hot spots throughout the day. This will be the last notification for this fire.
