Wildfire – Sandoval County – Canon, NM

Santa Fe – Multiple resources are working to suppress a wildfire in Canon, NM.  The fire is burning north of the Jemez Pueblo and east of Ponderosa.  The fire began on private land and has spread to brush, vehicles, and a shed, which is creating a large column of smoke.  Multiple structures are threatened at this time.  The public is being asked to avoid the area of Highway 485 near mile marker 2 to allow fire equipment into the area.  The State Forestry Division, Sandoval County Fire Department, and US Forest Service crews are at the scene.
