The Lumberton Fire in Rio Arriba County is currently estimated at 437 acres and 5% contained. Six residences are threatened and two homes remain evacuated as a precaution. Today cooler temperatures, increased humidity, and rain allowed firefighters to make progress in slowing the rate of spread of the fire. Weather conditions are expected to change and become hot and windy again on Tuesday (05/12). Multiple resources will continue to secure containment lines. The fire is under investigation.
