Fire in Latir Peak Wilderness Declared Out

Fire crews have contained, controlled and, as of this afternoon, declared the Bull Fire as out. The 0.10-acre lightning-caused fire, first reported on Jul. 22, was upslope from the intersection of the Lake Fork and Bull Creek trails in the Latir Peak Wilderness.

The fire smoldered in surface fuels under spruce-fir. Rock scree and high moisture in surrounding vegetation limited its spread before crews began mopping it up.
