Fire Update: On August 1, 2023, Crews responded to a fire in Crooked Canyon on the Guadalupe Ranger District, Lincoln National Forest.

The fire originated on National Forest land, burning approximately 30 acres.

Responders from Eddy County, Guadalupe Ranger District. Smokey Bear Hotshots have taken over the scene, and crews remain in the area to continue to keep the edges secure, and extinguish hotspots.

Smoke Conditions: None at this time.

Closures and Restrictions: None at this time.

This will be the final update on this incident, unless there is a significant change in fire activity.

UPDATE: Smokey Bear Hotshot Crew is on its way to continue to confine and contain the fire, which is holding at 30 acres. Interagency efforts include Eddy County Fire crews.

Lincoln National Forest crews are responding to at a fire near Crooked Canyon in the Guadalupe Ranger District. The fire is approximately 30 acres in size. More updates to follow.
