Change of Weather Prompts Ignitions on Alamosa Unit 1 Today

Due to a change in weather and conditions, including improved ventilation, fire crews are planning to pivot from only patrolling and monitoring to additionally conducting ignitions on Alamosa Unit 1. If a test fire is successful, up to 500 acres may be treated with prescribed fire later today.

It is unlikely ignitions will continue Thursday.
