Prescribed burns being conducted on Sacramento Ranger District, Lincoln National Forest

APRIL 24 – Rest of Week – Crews currently working to secure control line along parameters.  Preparing for wind events through rest of week, all active burn plans are currently on pause.

APRIL 23 Update – Crews currently working to secure control line along parameters.  Interior unburned pockets continue to burn out as daytime temperatures increase and RH decreases. Unit will continue to produce visible smoke throughout the day as operations and monitoring continues.

The Lincoln National Forest will be conducting prescribed burns on the Sacramento Ranger District between April 22-May 3, 2024. On April 22, crews successfully started ignitions, so smoke may be visible from the area.

Crews will continue to focus on 500 acres within the 16 Springs Project Area. There will be continued monitoring of the area after operations cease. Signs will be set up alerting the public to the project area.

Exact ignition dates are subject to weather and ground conditions, and can vary or be cancelled on short notice. Updates will be provided on the Lincoln National Forest’s Inciweb Prescribed Burn Page.
