Kiowa and Rita Blanca National Grasslands Prescribed (Rx) Fire Operations
Cibola National Forest & National Grasslands

Today, Rx fire ignitions have been completed on 342 acres of unit K-53N on the Kiowa and Rita Blanca National Grasslands within Union County NM.

With today’s Rx fire on unit K-53N and yesterday’s unit K-47N, ignitions have been completed per the previously announced 1,297 total acres within the Kiowa and Rita Blanca NGs. See Map attached.

Ignition were dependent upon agency administrator approval and conditions within the ranges outlined in the prescribed fire plan.
