SANTA FE NATIONAL FOREST FIRE MANAGEMENT ACTIVELY SUPPRESS NEW WILDFIRE START IN JEMEZ RANGER DISTRICT

Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) fire managers were notified of a new wildfire start, named Twin Cabins, located near the boundary between the Valles Caldera National Preserve and the Santa Fe National Forest, the afternoon of Monday June 23, 2025. Resources were on scene immediately managing the fire with a strategy of full suppression.

The wildfire is 30 acres and burning in oak brush, ponderosa pine, and Douglas fir with a high spread potential. Aerial and ground resources are on scene. Currently, the Twin Cabins Wildfire poses no threat to people or property.

Moisture is expected tomorrow, and an update will be provided tomorrow (June 24, 2025).
