Progress continues on Trout Fire

Summary: Incident personnel and heavy equipment remain actively engaged in suppression actions, repair and hazard mitigation. Yesterday, Highway 15 was reopened, and the forest closure was amended, reopening four campgrounds at Lake Roberts. Visitors should understand the current closure before traveling in the area. Temporary delays are possible due to the transportation of heavy equipment on Highway 15 and other area roads.

Yesterday, crews continued operations along the reopened Highway 15. Excavators made progress repairing dozer lines around the fire perimeter. Today, hotshot crews will search for and extinguish heat along the southwestern corner of the fire area, reinforcing handline and working towards additional containment, while repair continues around the perimeter of the fire.   

Suppression repair and containment efforts are occurring simultaneously across the incident. As the holiday approaches, visitors and residents are encouraged to maintain awareness when traveling and recreating, especially in areas where fire crews and equipment are still hard at work. Public cooperation is essential.

Weather: On Wednesday, the fire area saw between 1 and 2 inches of rain on the northeastern and central portions as well as localized flooding. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue moving through the region today, with localized heavy rain possible. Temperatures remained in the upper 70s. Slightly drier conditions are expected heading into the weekend.

Continúan los avances en el incendio Trout

Resumen: El personal y el equipo pesado del incidente siguen participando activamente en acciones de supresión, reparación y mitigación de riesgos. Ayer se reabrió la autopista 15 y se modificó el cierre del bosque, reabriendo cuatro campings en Lake Roberts. Los visitantes deben conocer el cierre actual antes de viajar por la zona. Es posible que se produzcan retrasos temporales debido al transporte de equipos pesados por la autopista 15 y otras carreteras de la zona.  

Ayer, los equipos continuaron las operaciones a lo largo de la reabierta Autopista 15. Las excavadoras avanzaron reparando las líneas de dozer alrededor del perímetro del incendio. Hoy, las cuadrillas de extinción buscarán y extinguirán el calor a lo largo de la esquina suroeste de la zona del incendio, reforzando la línea de mano y trabajando para lograr una contención adicional, mientras continúa la reparación alrededor del perímetro del incendio.  

Los esfuerzos de reparación y contención de la supresión se están produciendo simultáneamente en todo el incidente. A medida que se acercan las vacaciones, se anima a los visitantes y residentes a que se mantengan alerta cuando viajen y se diviertan, especialmente en las zonas donde los equipos y las cuadrillas de bomberos siguen trabajando duro. La cooperación ciudadana es esencial. 

Tiempo: El miércoles, en la zona del incendio cayeron entre 1y 2 pulgadas de lluvia en las partes nororiental y central, así como inundaciones localizadas. Se espera que hoy sigan moviéndose por la región chubascos y tormentas dispersas, con posibilidad de lluvias fuertes localizadas. Las temperaturas se mantuvieron por encima de los 70º. Se esperan condiciones ligeramente más secas de cara al fin de semana.
