Hotshot Crews continue Direct Line around Panther Fire

Summary: Yesterday, Hotshot crews made steady progress constructing direct line around the Panther Fire, located in the Gila Wilderness approximately 10 miles west of Lake Roberts. Crews were assisted by helicopters that pulled water from Lake Roberts for bucket drops. Firefighters will continue to secure the line today, utilizing air resources as needed.
Repair work continued on the Trout Fire yesterday. An unmanned aircraft system (UAS) was used to inspect inaccessible portions of the south side of the fireline and no heat was detected. Containment on the Trout Fire now stands at 93%. Today, crews will continue to check the southwest part of the fireline and start to remove signage and flagging.
Weather: Light winds and scattered thunderstorms are expected in the area today. Some of these thunderstorms could be slow-moving and have the potential to create locally heavy rainfall. Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 80s.

Resumen: Ayer, los equipos de élite avanzaron de forma constante en la construcción de una línea directa alrededor del incendio Panther, situado en el desierto de Gila, aproximadamente a 10 millas al oeste de Lake Roberts. Los equipos contaron con la ayuda de helicópteros que extrajeron agua de Lake Roberts para realizar caídas de agua en cubetas de cubos. Los bomberos seguirán asegurando la línea hoy, utilizando recursos aéreos según sea necesario.
Ayer continuaron las labores de reparación del incendio Trout Fire. Se utilizó un sistema aéreo no tripulado (UAS) para inspeccionar las zonas inaccesibles del lado sur de la línea de fuego y no se detectó calor. La contención del incendio Trout Fire se sitúa ahora en el 93 %. Hoy, las brigadas seguirán revisando la parte suroeste de la línea de fuego y comenzarán a retirar la señalización y banderas que delimitan áreas cerradas.
Clima: Se esperan vientos ligeros y tormentas eléctricas dispersas en la zona hoy. Algunas de estas tormentas eléctricas podrían ser de movimiento lento y tener el potencial de crear lluvias intensas a nivel local. Se espera que las temperaturas alcancen los 80 °F.
