Laguna Wildfire Smoke Outlook July 8, 2025

SMOKE Rain helped clear smoke from the area resulting in GOOD conditions across the area. Chances for storms is decreasing the next few days and more smoke and hazy skies are expected, though there is still a chance for an occasional storm which will help to clear smoke. Winds this afternoon will push smoke southeast of the fire, but most of this smoke should be aloft and minimal surface impacts are expected. Smoke may be visible from communities near the fire as well as from Los Alamos, Santa Fe and Albuquerque this afternoon but significant impacts at the surface are not expected. Hazy skies are expected. Overnight smoke is expected to settle in low lying areas below the fire, including the Rio Chama river valley and in those communities along NM State Road 96, where smoke will be slow to lift in the morning. A similar pattern is expected the next few days with less storms, higher temperatures and light surface winds, which could lead to smokier and hazier conditions where smoke is slow to clear.

CONDICIONES DEL HUMO. La presencia de la lluvia en el área ayudó a despejar el humo de la zona dando lugar a condiciones calificadas como BUENAS. Para los próximos días, las posibilidades de tormentas están disminuyendo y se espera más humo y cielos nublados. Sin embargo, aún existe la posibilidad de una tormenta aislada que ayudará a despejar el humo.

Por la tarde, los vientos en el área empujarán el humo al sureste del incendio. La mayor cantidad del humo se acumulará en las alturas con impactos mínimos en la superficie. Esta tarde, se podrá observar el humo desde las comunidades cercanas al fuego, así como de Los Álamos, Santa Fe y Albuquerque. Este fenómeno natural no causara impactos significativos en la superficie.

Se podrán observar cielos nublados. Durante la noche se espera que el humo se asiente en las zonas inferiores del incendio, incluyendo el valle del río Chama y en las comunidades a lo largo de la carretera 96 del Estado de NM. En dicha área, el levantamiento del humo se dará en la mañana. Un patrón similar se espera para los próximos días con menos tormentas, temperaturas más altas y vientos ligeros sobre la superficie del terreno. Esto podría dar lugar a condiciones de humo despejándose con lentitud y un ambiente más nublado.
