Carson National Forest fire crews are on scene of the Canon Seco wildfire. Smoke can be seen near Canon Seco around US HWY 285 with an approximate size around 50 acres.

Rough terrain in the area makes it not easily accessible, however three type 6 engines are currently on the scene while starting mop up. Helicopter has assisted with bucket work and will be used for reconnaissance later. The moderate-intensity fire is burning with no growth from initial reports. There is no threat to homes or infrastructure, and the cause is lightning.
