New Fire Start Near Taos, N.M.

Fire crews are currently responding to fully suppress the Deer Fire near Bear Wallow Ridge and Deer Park (general area map). It is estimated to be 1 acre in size.

Smoke can be seen from parts of Highway 518 and high points in the Taos, N.M., area.

Fire managers are asking the public to avoid Forest Road 441 for their and firefighter safety.
