Location: Northeast Mt Taylor Ranger District near Black Mesa and northeast of Grants, NM.

Responding Resources: As of mid-day Saturday Aug 9, multiple firefighting resources on scene with additional response of engines and aerial resources today.

Values at risk: The Vereda Blanca Fire is not a threat to any communities, and there are no evacuations in effectCultural sites may be at risk.

Fuels: Pinyon-juniper and ponderosa pine.

Safety: The health and safety of firefighters and the public are always the first priority. Members of the public should avoid the Vereda Blanca Fire area.

Drones pose a serious risk to firefighting and can cause air operations to cease.
