The lightning fire was reported July 24. No precipitation was received on the fire yesterday and as of this afternoon, the fire has grown to 30 acres. More rain is predicted for the next few days which will likely produce outflow winds that will increase fire behavior and smoke production. Today’s wind has increased smoke visibility from the surrounding communities. Fire is active today and moving in a southwesterly direction. No structures are being threatened. Firefighters and a Type 6 Engine are on scene. Objectives are to confine the wildfire using existing roads and natural barriers.
