CARSON NATIONAL FOREST EL VALLE FIRE UPDATE

Location:  Camino Real Ranger District
                  Hwy 76, Forest Road 207

2 miles south of the community of Chamisal

1 mile north of El Valle

Start Date:  July 30, 2016                Size:  approximately 15 acres             Percent Contained:  0

Cause:  lightning

Summary:  Fire was reported this afternoon at 2:30 p.m.  Two engines and several firefighters have arrived on scene.  Several more resources are en route.  Fire behavior is reported as low to moderate and is burning in an old thinning area containing mostly Ponderosa pine.  Firefighters have engaged the fire on the east side.
