Encino Fire Update – Rio Rancho 06/19/17 11:00 a.m.

Firefighters made good progress on the Encino Fire overnight on the Westside of Rio Rancho. The fire is 60% contained. After more accurate mapping the fire is now estimated at about 1,278 acres. New Mexico State Forestry, Sandoval County FD, Rio Rancho FD, Corrales FD, Albuquerque FD, USFS, BIA  and SPA fire suppression resources were instrumental in helping stop the fire spread. Firefighters will continue to monitor the fire area throughout the week due to hot, dry and breezy conditions.
