The Quebradas Fire, burning on private land east of Escondida Lake in Socorro County, is estimated at 15 acres and 0% contained. The fire started around 5:00 p.m. tonight (05/20) and has burned two outbuildings. Additional structures remain threatened and voluntary evacuations are in place. Resources will continue to build and strengthen containment lines overnight. Current resources include approximately 40 personnel from multiple agencies. Crews with the State Forestry Inmate Work Camp Program will arrive in the morning (05/21) to assist with fire suppression efforts. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
