Location and Jurisdiction: On BLM lands, north of Navajo Dam and west of Hwy 511.
Cause: Lightning.
Fire Size: Approximately 10 acres.
Percent Contained: None reported yet.
Fire Behavior: Isolated torching, creeping and low intensity fire.
Fuels and Terrain: Burning in juniper and piñon tree slash in an area treated by BLM to reduce fire hazards.
Fire Crews/Resources: 3 engines. Total personnel: 20.
Structures Threatened: None
Evacuations: None in effect at this time.
Closures: None.
Summary: The BLM has command of the Simon Canyon Fire burning on BLM lands in the Farmington Field Office. The fire is burning in an area previously treated by BLM to reduce fire hazards which has enabled fire crews to access the fire.
