Ojo de los Casos Fire

Mountainair, NM, July 8, 2020 – The Ojo de los Casos Fire is burning on the north end of the Manzano Mountains, near the Dog Head fire scar. The fire is estimated at 20 acres and was initially very active, causing big plumes of smoke that could be seen from  the Albuquerque, East Mountain, and Estancia areas. Several air tankers, helicopters and ground resources are on scene with more being ordered and routed to the fire.  All residents in the area are encouraged to pay close attention to this fire in case evacuations become necessary.
