Ojo De Los Casos Crews Provide Mutual Aid

On Wednesday evening Torrance County was quick in providing mutual aid to the Mountainair Ranger District as the Ojo De Los Casos fire grew. Saturday afternoon the favor was returned as the Albuquerque Zone Incident Management’s Structure Protection/Initial Attack Division assigned to the Ojo De Los Casos Fire responded to a 16 acre grass fire on private land near Riley Rd, east of the Highway 337/55 junction. Crews consisting of resources from New Mexico State Forestry, Bureau of Land Management and Albuquerque Fire all assisted Torrance County with initial attack. Crews assigned to the Mountainair Ranger District also responded. This was a great example of multiple agencies working together for a common cause.
