Fire Update: The Spring Fire began as a structure fire near the town of Sacramento, NM which spread to the adjacent Lincoln National Forest. The fire is burning near Spring Canyon and is approximately 5 acres. Firefighting resources are on scene including 2 type-6 engines and numerous volunteer fire departments. The status of the structure is unknown at this time. Winds from the west gusting 12-30 mph are fanning the fire that is burning in ponderosa pine and grass. Temperatures in the mid-30s and humidity levels around 30 percent throughout the night could aid firefighters in their effort to control the blaze. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
