The 140 Fire is located in the Rio Chama bosque off of US County Road 140 in Abiquiu. Multiple homes are threatened and at least one residence has burned. The Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s Department is conducting evacuations. Numerous local and state resources are working together to suppress this fire and along with a second fire 2 miles to the north. Smoke is visible for several miles around the fire area. The cause is under investigation.
