Ignitions to begin at Cerro del Aire (Wind Mountain) Prescribed Fire

Today, fire managers with the Bureau of Land Management, Taos Field Office, plan to begin ignitions at the 1,000-acre Cerro del Aire (Wind Mountain) Prescribed Fire located within the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument and northeast of Tres Piedras, N.M. Higher relative humidity is expected this week, in addition to other favorable weather conditions. Fire managers actively monitor the weather and burning conditions to meet project objectives. If conditions move outside of those parameters, the prescribed fire will be attempted another day. More information on this project can be found here.
