The Peterson Fire, located northwest of Las Vegas in San Miguel County, is now 80% contained. The fire remains estimated at 30 acres. Today firefighters will continue to secure containment lines and mop up hot spots in preparation for strong winds forecast for the area. No structures are threatened. The cause remains under investigation. This will be the final update for this fire unless there are significant changes.
