Location: 3 miles NW of the community of Truchas
Fire Update: The Francisco Fire, first detected on Monday evening about 3 miles northwest of Truchas, New Mexico, is now at 90% containment after receiving some light precipitation today. Fire crews secured containment lines this morning and will continue mop-up and monitoring operations. This will be the final news release unless something significant changes on the incident.
Smoke: Minimal white, wispy smoke from the southwest corner of the fire may be visible from the communities of El Rito, Española, Rio Chama, El Duende, Chilile, Tesuque, Truchas, Chimayó, Cordova, and Alcalde, New Mexico. Smoke-sensitive individuals and people with respiratory problems or heart disease are encouraged to take precautionary measures.
