The Cemetery Fire, located south of Belen off of NM Highway 346 in Valencia County, is now estimated at 313.5 acres and 70% contained. The size of the fire was reduced today after more accurate ground mapping. Crews continue to make good progress with no significant changes in fire behavior. The interior of the fire is smoldering and producing less smoke. Approximately 40 personnel will continue scouting for hot spots and securing containment lines along the east and west sides of the Rio Grande over the next few days. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
