The Cemetery Fire, located south of Belen off of NM Highway 346 in Valencia County, remains estimated at 313.5 acres and 70% containment. Due to the type of bosque fuels firefighters are working with, the process of mop-up may take some time. More than 30 personnel are patrolling the fire area looking for hot spots and securing containment lines along both sides of the Rio Grande. The Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District (MRGCD) is also assisting the Forestry Division and local resources with a water tender and heavy equipment.
