Start date: August 11, 2021 Cause: Lightning Size: .15-acre Containment: 100%
Location: Northeast of Santa Fe near the Chamisa Trailhead on the Española Ranger District
Fuels: Oak, Ponderosa pine, and Piñyon-juniper at approximately 8,500 feet elevation.
Resources: One engine
Operations: Firefighters contained the fire. This is the final news release on the Gabaldon Fire unless conditions change significantly.
Weather: Showers and thunderstorms are predicted for the fire area.
Values at risk: No immediate values at risk.
Safety: The health and safety of firefighters and the public are always the first priority.
Restrictions: Currently, there are no closures or restrictions for the Gabaldon Fire.
