Fire Name: Cathy Vista
Location: Near Cathy Peak on the Sacramento Ranger District, Lincoln National Forest
Size: 0.75 acres
Cause: Unknown
Update: Firefighters responded to a smoke report near Cathy Peak on the Sacramento Ranger District of the Lincoln National Forest around 1 pm this afternoon. Upon arrival they discovered a 0.75 acre fire burning in dead and down woody debris on the forest floor. Crews are working to build fire line around the fire.
More information will be provided this evening.
Forest visitors are reminded that while temperatures are lower this time of year, fires can still happen. Please properly extinguish all fires. Campfires should be cool to the touch before leaving.
