The 380 Friday Fire is located on state, private, and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land off of Highway 380 and mile marker 202 in Lea County. The fire is estimated at 1,000 acres and 0% contained. Three homes are threatened, but there are no evacuations in place at this time. Temperatures hovered in the lower 90s today with sustained winds of 31 mph and low relative humidity in the single digits. The grass fire started at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon. Multiple resources will work to secure the perimeter of this fire throughout the evening. The cause is under investigation.
