Fire Update:  Numerous fire resources from the county and Forest Service are responding to a fire in the 16 Springs area area east of Cloudcroft, NM along Highway 82. The fire, which started on private property, is estimated at 2 acres at this time. The Otero County Sherriff has issued an evacuation notice for residents in the area of Highway 82 between mile marker 22-25. The fire is headed to the northeast drive by heavy winds.

Otero County and the Lincoln National Forest are both under fire restrictions.
