The Campbell Road Fire, located east of Des Moines off of Road 370 and Campbell Road in Union County, is estimated at 2,000 acres and 90% contained. This wind-driven fire was very active yesterday with running and spotting in pinon-juniper, grass, and brush. The fire is burning in a canyon with very rough terrain. Firefighters will continue to work through the weekend to mop up and secure containment lines. The cause of the fire is under investigation. This will be the last notification for the Campbell Road Fire unless there are significant changes.
