Road closures in place for west and east bound of I-40 and NM Hwy 333.

Fire behavior: Active fire behavior driven westerly by high winds.
Weather: Extreme fire conditions with temps in the high 80s and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 3 am. East winds at 24 mph with gusts to 36 mph with evening temps in low 70s with southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. https://www.weather.gov/
Resources on scene: Unified command with USFS and Bernalillo County. Firefighters from the USFS, Albuquerque Fire, Bernalillo County Fire Dept., are on scene. Additional resources have been ordered.
Evacuations: Bernalillo County Sheriff and NM State Police have started evacuations of residents in the area of Carnuel Canyon.
Members of the public should stay away from Fire operations and evacuation areas.

Smoke may be visible in the surrounding areas of Albuquerque, Tijeras and Sandia east mountains.
