Tusas Fire – San Miguel County – Update

Evening update on Tusas Fire, per San Miguel FD:

If you are on NM 266 between mile marker 4 and highway 94 or if you are on highway 94 between Sapello and county road A4A, you are on SET status.

If you are on county road A4A, you are on READY status.

BE READY to evacuate when advised by local officials.

MAKE a plan for your pets or other animals.

PREPARE now by getting essential supplies for you & those in your care, including pets and babies: food, water, cash, medication, gas, glasses/contacts, hearing aids, pet supplies, pet carriers, baby supplies, etc. and keep them with you.

PREPARE by getting your essential documents, including: birth certificate, passports, driver’s license, social security card, insurance cards, etc. and keeping them with you.

This notification comes due to fire activity and anticipated fire weather for Thursday, April 23. A Red Flag warning will be in effect from 9am-8pm, with increased wind speeds and gusts from 35-55 mph.
