Tusas Fire – Evening Update – 4/24

Today, crews made good progress completing handline around the perimeter of the Tusas Fire, helping to raise containment to 39%. Fire acreage was reduced to 231 acres due to more accurate mapping.

Evacuations: The road closure on NM 266 remains in place for non-residents. Residents should proceed with caution, as firefighting operations are ongoing. Ready statuses from this morning remain in place for NM 266 from CR A3 to HWY 94; HWY 94 to CR A4A.
