A New Santa Fe Forest Area Closure is in Affect
Operational Update: Fire resources, assigned to the Frijoles Fire, will remain in a state of readiness to protect structures in case of a threat to the community of Cundiyo, or the Gorham Scout ranch. As the chance for thunderstorms and lightning persists, the Team has designated Initial Attack resources to respond in the event there are any new starts.
Weather: Tonight, areas of smoke will persist. The skies will be mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of scattered showers through midnight. Minimum temps will be in the low 50°s with maximum humidity ranging between 75 to 85%. This evening, the winds direction is expected to be west to southwest at 5 – 10 mph becoming terrain dominated after midnight.
Evacuations: Santa Fe County and Rio Arriba County issued evacuation status updates. Santa Fe County issued a “Ready Status” update for the Borrego Mesa area (specifically around FR 440 and FR 306) and Nambe Pueblo Lake and a “Go Status” update – Immediate Evacuation of individuals on Camino de Canon in Cundiyo. The rest of Cundiyo and Cerro Piñon have been placed on “Set Status”. Rio Arriba County issued a “Ready Status” update for the community of Cordova.

There is a road closure for NM 503 between County Road 98 and State Road 76. Visitors are encouraged to avoid the fire area and use caution when traveling near firefighting operations.
Forest Area Closure: The Santa Fe National Forest issued a new temporary forest area closure for the Frijoles Fire. The Described Area includes Santa Fe National Forest lands, roads, and trails within Township 21N Range 10E Sections 34-36 (within the forest boundary only); Township 21N Range 11E Sections 31-36 (within the forest boundary only); Township 20N Range Order Number: # 03-10-06-26-11 10E Sections 1-3, 10-15, 22-27, and 34-36; Township 20N Range 11E Sections 1-36; Township 19N Range 10E Sections 1-3, 10-15, 22-27, and 34-36; Township 19N Range 11E Sections 1-23, 26-35; and Township 18N Range 10E Sections 1-4, 11-12 and Township 18N Range 11E Sections 2-11 of the New Mexico Meridian, New Mexico. The Santa Fe National Forest issued a Temporary Road Closure Order affecting FR 306, from the intersection of FR 440 and FR 306, West to the Forest Boundary and FR 306.
