Summary: The Round Fire is burning on National Forest system lands in the Aldo Leopold Wilderness. Due to the remote location it is being managed for multiple resource benefits. Values at risk includes private property, range improvements, and heritage resources, while allowing fire to play its natural role in the ecosystem and wilderness. Reducing hazardous fuels on the forest floor will prevent more catastrophic wildfires in the future. This fire will also help preserve critical wildlife habitat.
