The Patterson Fire near Roswell, NM in Chaves County is currently 30% contained and estimated at 780 acres. Evacuations have been lifted and Bottomless Lakes State Park reopened to the public for day use this morning (05/18) at 11:00 a.m. Structures along the east side of the Pecos River remain threatened. Firefighters are mopping up hot spots and strengthening containment lines. Interior fuels will continue to produce smoke that will be seen from the surrounding area.
