UPDATE: Patterson Fire – Chaves County – 05/19 10:40 a.m.

The Patterson Fire near Roswell, NM in Chaves County remains 30% contained and estimated at 780 acres. The threat to homes in the area has passed and there are no evacuations. Bottomless Lakes State Park is open to the public for day use only at this time. Firefighters will continue to strengthen containment lines and mop up hot spots. Heavy interior fuels will continue to produce smoke.
