The Lumberton Fire burning on private land in Rio Arriba County is now 45% contained. New GPS mapping also shows the fire holding at 430 acres. Evacuation orders will be lifted at noon today (05/13) and residents will be allowed to return to their homes. Six homes remain threatened in the area of the fire. Fire activity is expected to pick up today with warmer temperatures and increased wind gusts drying out fuels. Unburned pockets of interior fuels may produce visible smoke. Today, firefighters will continue to mop up hot spots and secure all fire lines.
