Paradise Loop Fire – Torrance County – April 24, 2021

The Paradise Loop Fire is a new wildfire located west of Moriarty and southeast of Edgewood off Highway 66 and Vigil Road in Torrance County. The fire is estimated at 40 acres and 20% contained. Multiple structures are threatened, and local law enforcement has evacuated residents along Vigil Road. Resources from Torrance County, Santa Fe County, Moriarty, and the Forestry Division are on scene. The fire started around 3:30 p.m. and is burning in grass and brush. The cause of the fire is under investigation. 

Individuals sensitive to wildfire smoke should take precautions and use the New Mexico Department of Health 5-3-1 Visibility Method to determine if it’s safe to be outside. Learn more at
