Crews are responding to a wildfire north of Marble Canyon near Hershberger Peak on the Sacramento Ranger District of the Lincoln National Forest. The fire is above West Side Road and is burning in pinon-juniper, oak brush and grasses. Smoke from the fire is visible from Alamogordo and along West Side Rd. Emergency services are aware of the fire, and are actively responding. There is no need to call 911 at this time to report the fire. More information will be released as it becomes available.
