Date/Time Detected: May 23, 2022, around 5 pm.
Location: Off Bear Canyon Road near where it intersects Highway 130. North of Camp of the Tall Pines.
Firefighting Resources: County and Forest Service firefighting resources: 3 engines. Single Engine Airtanker. Air attack.
Fire Update: County and Forest Service firefighters responded to the Bear Fire located off of Bear Canyon Rd near the intersection of Highway 130. The fire is 6 acres. Firefighters deployed a single engine tanker to assist them on the ground. The fire produced smoke that was highly visible from Denny Hill and surrounding communities. The fire is now smoldering. Firefighters remain on scene.
This will be the last update for the Bear Fire unless there is a significant change.
