General Location: approximately 1 mile east of the Village of Ruidoso and 1 1/2 miles south of Ruidoso High School
Personnel: all firefighting resources have been released
Fuel Type: Timber, tall grass and understory
Size: 125 acres (estimated acreage based on improved mapping) the fire is mostly on state/private and 0.2 acres on USFS Lincoln National Forest
Containment: 70%
Injuries: 2 minor injuries
The Pecos Zone Type III Incident Management Team transferred command of the fire to local agency Incident Commander Spencer Baldwin (NMSF) and Deputy IC Frank Silva (NMSF). The nighttime and early morning snowfall in Ruidoso was a welcome relief for firefighters. All firefighting resources have been released.
