Location: Approximately 2 miles west of Mayhill, NM and just off of Highway 82
Lat/Long: 32 deg, 54 min, 14.4 sec X 105 deg, 30 min, 15.7 sec
Legal Description: T16S, R14E, SWSW Sec 22
Firefighting Resources: 2 Mayhill VFD engines and 2 Forest Service Engines, 1 Law Enforcement Officer. 13 personnel total.

Hazards: None
Fuels: Ponderosa pine grass understory
Size: ¼ acre
Containment: The fire was 100% contained by 8:00 pm this evening (3/16/17)
Cause: Human-caused. Under investigation.
Status: Firefighters responded to the Campground Fire shortly after it was reported this evening (3/16/17). They successfully contained the fire by 8:00 pm. The ¼-acre fire was determined to be human-caused and is currently under investigation. Firefighting resources returned to their stations after completely lining (building fire line around the perimeter of the fire) and containing the fire. Forest Service firefighters will return to the scene tomorrow. The fire was primarily burning and smoldering in grass.
