Gila National Forest: Quemado RD to resume pile and slash burning

The Quemado Ranger District plans to resume pile and slash burning in the Dead Horse Canyon area the week of October 15-18. Cooler temperatures and forecasted moisture make ideal conditions for pile burning.  Approximately 200 acres are targeted for treatment. The plan is to treat the piles directly southeast of FR 4017L. The remainder of the week, the piles northwest of FR 400K will be targeted for treatment.
