Fire Information Line: (575) 519-4312

Email:   larry_smith@firenet.gov

Size: 23,216  acres                          Containment: 34%                            Cause: Lightning

Location: Three miles northeast of Mogollon Baldy Lookout

Total Personnel:  72 personnel on the fire including four Type 2 initial attack hand crews, one Type 1 helicopter, and one Type 3 helicopter

Summary:  The fire perimeter has not grown for three days. The likelihood of threat to life and property are minimal unless a significant drying trend and wind event occur. Because of the location within an old burn scar, resulting in an abundance of snags, crews have been unable to safely construct direct fireline.

Crews continued to clear Trail # 172 south towards intersection with Trail #182 at Hummingbird saddle. Scouting of Y Creek cabin has been completed.

Weather:  Cloud cover, scattered precipitation and high relative humidity (RH) have contributed to minimizing fire behavior, despite outflow winds from area thunderstorms.
